BIOGRAPHY
Anton Yelchin was born in 1989 in St. Petersburg, Russia (which at the time was still part of USSR). He came to the USA as an infant with his parents who were both Russian figure skating champions. Much to his parents' dissappointment, he showed an interest in acting instead of skating and he has been acting since he was 9 years old. He started out with commercials for such companies as McDonald's Radi Shack, Citibank and Chuck E. Cheese, where he playd a kid laughing at another kid, then moved on to do guest apperances in television shows. His first big movie role was in 'Hearts in Atlantis' alongside Anthony Hopkins who was very impressed with him. Other movie roles soon appeared. Now he stars in 'Charlie Bartlett' as the title character alongside Robert Downey Jr., Hope Davis and Tyler Hilton. In addition to that, his upcoming moveis include 'Finding t.A.T.u.', 'Middle of Nowhere' and 'Star Trek'. Aside from filming, he's a regular guy. He likes to play Beatles tunes and play chess. As of autumn 2007, he's earning a Critical Studies degree at USC, in hopes of becoming a director. Hope things go uphill for him for a long time.
